The Gauntlet is a leadership development path for men at StoneWater. You’ll study the Bible, gain practical tools for daily living, engage in daily accountability, and meet other men committed to growing in spiritual maturity. Each stage is designed to confront the sin patterns we all face, call you into God’s design for manhood, and challenge you to put what you learn into practice.

Stage: Money

Money is a 3-week stage (1.5 hours each week) where we confront the sin of greed and learn to walk in biblical generosity. God is a good Father who gives good gifts to His children. He invites us to enjoy His provision and experience the freedom that comes when we use His gifts the way He designed.

Over three weeks, we’ll cover:
Money as a tool for God’s purposes
The goal of financial freedom and faithful stewardship
Wisdom around debt, saving, and investing
Stewarding God’s provision with purpose
Practicing generosity

This stage is not about guilt, shame, or fear of messing up. It’s about learning to enjoy what God has entrusted to you, while also using it to bless your family, care for others, advance His mission, and delight in His creation. It’s all His—and He gave it to you as a gift, not a burden.

What to Expect

It’s casual—bring food if you want.
You don’t need to bring anything but yourself.
You must attend the first session to continue.
Open to all men 16 and older—single, married, divorced, at whatever stage of life you’re in.

Instructor: Rod Johnson
Rod Johnson lives in Godley, TX with his wife, Jennifer. They have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. Rod has spent over 30 years in technology sales and now works for a Venture Capital/Private Equity firm. He and Jennifer have been part of StoneWater Godley since 2021 and are grateful to call it their church home.
