Details
The Gauntlet is a leadership development path for men at StoneWater. You’ll learn the Bible, receive practical application for daily living, engage with daily accountability and meet other men committed to growing in spiritual maturity. Each stage is designed to confront the sin patterns we all face, call you up into God’s design for manhood, and push you to put what you learn into practice.
Stage: Leadership
About This Stage:
Leadership is a 4-week stage (1.5 hours each week) where we confront pride head-on and learn to walk in humility and integrity. Leadership isn’t about position or power—it’s about service, character, and keeping your word. Over four weeks we’ll cover:
Leading yourself
Leading up
Leading your team
Candid coaching
You’ll also learn from biblical leaders such as Joshua, Moses, David, Nehemiah, Daniel, and Jesus—men who modeled servant leadership that continues to shape the church and the world today.
What to Expect:
It’s casual — bring food if you want.
You don’t need to bring anything but yourself.
You have to attend the first session of the stage to continue.
Open to all men 16 and older — single, married, divorced, whatever stage you’re in.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to Mark Pester, Gauntlet Coordinator, at mark.pester@stonewaterchurch.com

Instructor: Mike Rushing
Mike Rushing loves helping and leading other men. He has been married to his wife, Stacy, for 32 years. They have two children — a son, Cole (23), and a daughter, Tayler, who is married to Blake. Tayler and Blake have been married for three years and are parents to Easton, their two-year-old son, with a second grandson on the way. Mike often says that grandchildren are one of the greatest blessings from the Lord.
